Check out conditions on the Rogart Mtn Trail.  This is part of the Gully Lake Wilderness Trail system created + maintained by Cobequid Eco-trail Society

  • go HERE for their excellent tips on back country hiking + snowshoeing
  • tell Staff at Sugar Moon if you see any downed trees/branches on the trail + we will pass that on

NOTE if you haven't done Rogart Mtn Trail before, know that although it is only 6.2 km, it is a serious wilderness trail and gains quite a bit of elevation. It can take 2 - 3 hours to complete, or longer if breaking trail. Don't underestimate! Follow the usual safety instructions one would follow before wilderness snowshoeing.

Sunday May 4

Rogart Mtn Trail is temporarily closed due to wet conditions!

All this rain and traffic has really made the trail really sloppy in places and it needs a break. Cobequid EcoTrails Society decided to close Rogart Mtn Trail until it dries up. Last week a dedicated crew of volunteers worked very hard to try to drain the really wet spots and fix up the trail as best they could.

However, the trails in the Gully Lake Wilderness Area just down the road are definitely open, accessible and beautiful. Go HERE for maps.
