All tapped in!

Scott finished tapping last weekend!! That means all we have to do is wait for sap. Well...not quite. Scott has to mount the steam stack on the roof and generally prepare the sugar camp for production.

We're training a new fire person this year, Matt Miller.  Christopher Howse, our regular man, and his wife are having a baby in April and (obviously) he needs to be available!

Matt's an Earltowner from way back whose family lives in Greenhill, Pictou Co. He's a Forest Tech as well as a Forester with a keen interest in creating sustainable revenue with standing trees. Matt comes well-equipped to support Scott in the sugar camp - we're excited to break him in!

We all know that it's Mother Nature who determines the real start of spring. Warm temperatures are needed for these beautiful sugar maples to wake up from their long winter sleep and get hydrating.

Keep an eye on this sap journal, sign up for our e-list and check our phone message - we'll let you know the moment spring arrives!

In the meantime, we're open Fri-Sat-Sun 10 am to 4 pm. It's new hours for the Sugar Season. We're also open March Break - see all hours HERE.

And for the first time, we're taking weekend reservations! They are available only at 9:00 am on Saturdays and Sundays, and 10:00 am on Fridays. And the only way you can reserve is if you book our Maple Magic Package - a reserved, prepaid, all-inclusive package that includes brunch, a sugar camp tour and sugar-on-snow. Check it out!

Here's a link to our Sugar Season page for everything else you need to know.
