Sweet and steamy in the sugar camp.
Sweet and steamy in the sugar camp.

Yesterday, Wednesday, was the first day of productive boiling. Scott and Christopher made some awesome syrup!

Scott cleaned up what sap we had and now we're waiting for more.

Meanwhile, the weather coming up this week is going to be all over the place. We'll see what comes!

Fun to read the sap journal. Did your sap run in those cold days between March 2 and March 7

Hey glad to hear someone reads it! Scott says we had a small but good run last Saturday and then it has only trickled since then.

Yes indeed, "someone" has even enjoyed pancakes at Sugarmoon and walked into the stand of maples behind!

I look forward to your sap journal every year. I Don't usually leave comments, but I read every post. I'm always interested to see how the sap is flowing at Sugar Moon. Keep up the good work!!

So nice to hear! Thanks for saying hello! I'll post later today! Not much to report though- lots of snow here and pretty cold up at Sugar Moon.

Hey Sal - our season's just begun. We haven't started to make mid season syrup yet. Check in again in a week or so?!

A friend told me about the Sugar Moon sap report. I was very pleased to find a real time report of what is happening in the maple bush. We have just a dozen taps in the woods and appreciate knowing what is happening in the bigger picture. Family visited Sugar Moon last year and plan to go again this season.
