We are in the process of contacting chefs about all of our chef nights for 2010. We are excited about our Mother's Day Chef's Night on May 8 with Renee Lavallee (Five Fishermen) and Alanna McIntyre (Bishop's Cellar) - and are booking now. The menu is coming...
There are some great snowshoeing and skiing events organized for this winter around the Cape to Cape trail near and on Sugar Moon Farm. (Jan 16, 23 & Feb 6, 7 and 20) They are being sponsored by Cobequid Eco-Trails Society, Municipality of Colchester, and Hike Nova Scotia. Check out dates and details here.
We rent snowshoes at Sugar Moon! We have about 8 pairs and they rent for a flat rate of $5 for adults and $3 for kids 12 and under, if they are used on the farm trails (including Rogart Mtn). We recommend that you reserve ahead - they are popular right now. Conditions are great right now...We have lots of snow!
We had a perfect sleigh ride season from early January til Feb 21. Now we're all done sleigh rides til next year. Hopefully we'll have such good conditions again. Now we have to get ready for the busy sugar season!

Maple Info
The sap runs in the spring. Sugar makers have only a 4 to 6 week window of opportunity in March and April to gather sap from maple trees and turn it into the golden elixir of maple syrup. Check out our Sap Journal 2010...and our Sap Journal 2009...
Read our "FAQ" page...or "Frequently Asked Questions" about visiting us during the Maple Season.
It takes 40 litres of sap to product one litre of maple syrup. Sugar on Snow – a special sugar camp treat – is one of the best ways to enjoy maple and is offered at Sugar Moon Farm every weekend in March and April between 10 and 4...and Easter Weekend Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon. Want more information about maple syrup? Check out the Nova Scotia Maple Producers' website.
