Making maple syrup is done with pride, (using traditional methods) at Sugar Moon Farm.

Our sugar camp or sugar maple farm in Nova Scotia has been making maple syrup and maple sugar products since 1994 and we are proud of our Nova Scotia production facilities.
Sugar Moon
Native American name for the sugaring season, the month of freezing nights & warm days usually coinciding with March/April (also called Maple Moon).

Owner Scott Whitelaw maintains the traditional methods of maple syrup production at his sugar maple farm at Earltown, Nova Scotia. Sugar Moon Farm began in 1973 as Boondock Maple Products, owned and operated by Bob Williams. In 1994, we commenced a 2-year apprenticeship learning the craft of maple sugaring. Today we are proud to continue the springtime tradition of making maple syrup over a wood-fired evaporator, fuelled with mountain hardwood.

Visitors to our maple sugar farm love to hike the groomed trails in and around our sugar camp. Sugar Moon Farm is a working sugar maple farm and woodlot. We produce quality food in a manner that supports local agriculture and community, and respects land and water. To this end, we buy locally, use a composting system for our public washrooms and employ draft horse power on our sugar maple farm.

Sugar Moon Farm is Atlantic Canada's Maple Syrup Economuseum - a living museum of the craft of maple sugaring. We offer free tours of our working sugar camp and maple interpretive area, seasonal demonstrations and maple samples.
